Roger Binny resigns as BCCI chief, Rajiv Shukla appointed acting president

New Delhi: Former India pacer and BCCI president Roger Binny has reportedly resigned as the head of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the country’s richest sports body.

Following his resignation, Rajiv Shukla, the current vice-president, has been appointed as the acting chief until the next elections, which are expected to be held next month.

Sources said the BCCI’s apex council recently met under Shukla’s chairmanship, with sponsorship issues as the main agenda.

The meeting discussed terminating Dream11’s contract and finding a new sponsor for the next two-and-a-half years. With the Asia Cup starting on September 10, the BCCI is actively seeking new sponsors while awaiting a permanent deal.
