Rohit, Kohli shine as India beat Australia by nine wickets in final ODI

New Delhi: Opener Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten 121 and Virat Kohli’s 74 helped India beat Australia by nine wickets in the final match of the three-match ODI series on Sunday. However, Australia sealed the series 2-1.

Chasing a target of 237, India cruised to 240 for one in 38.3 overs. Rohit’s knock included 13 fours and three sixes, while Kohli struck seven boundaries. Skipper Shubman Gill was dismissed for 24 runs.

Earlier, Australia were bowled out for 236 in 46.4 overs, with Matt Renshaw top-scoring with 56 runs. Mitchell Marsh added 41, while Matthew Short (30), Travis Head (29), Alex Carey (24) and Cooper Connolly (23) made handy contributions.

For India, Harshit Rana was the pick of the bowlers, claiming four wickets, while Washington Sundar took two. Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel picked up one wicket each.

Rohit Sharma was named Player of the Match and player of the series.
