Chandigarh: Four days after Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar was found dead at his Sector 11 residence, the Haryana government on Friday transferred Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia. Surinder Singh Bhoria has been appointed as the new SP of Rohtak.
According to the order issued today, separate instructions regarding Bijarnia’s new posting will be released later.
The family of the deceased officer had earlier demanded that Haryana DGP Shatrujit Kapoor and Rohtak SP Bijarnia be sent on leave following the recovery of Kumar’s suicide note.
They also sought strict action against both officers. Meanwhile, officials have assured the family that their demands are under consideration.
