New Delhi: Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, on Thursday said the organisation needs to increase its presence on social media platforms to promote constructive work.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Bhagwat noted that social media is widely used by people and should be utilised for positive purposes.
“Memes and reels are already popular. Some content is being shared through the RSS communication wing and our volunteers are also using social media. This needs to be expanded further,” he said.
Bhagwat emphasised that both mobilising people and bringing about social change are equally important. He added that committed volunteers often take up constructive activities that gradually contribute to wider transformation in society.
He also pointed out that rising public expectations have increased the demand for volunteers across sectors, making it necessary to create smaller, more efficient units within the organisation.
The RSS chief further said that for the organisation’s expanding work, regular coordination with government and administrative bodies is required. He added that a separate mechanism is being developed for this purpose, including the formation of state-level coordination units to address challenges and improve functioning.
