SGPC to honour Sikh UPSC achievers with ₹1 lakh each

Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has announced a cash award of ₹1 lakh each for Sikh students who have cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami congratulated the successful candidates and said the honour is meant to encourage Sikh youth to pursue competitive examinations and public service careers.

Dhami said clearing the UPSC examination reflects the hard work and determination of the students. He added that candidates such as Simrandeep Kaur and Sunwardeep Singh, along with other Sikh students who cleared the exam, have brought pride not only to their families but also to the Sikh community.

He also noted that Simrandeep Kaur, who secured All India Rank 15, studied at Khalsa College Patiala, which is managed by the SGPC.

Dhami said the SGPC has been making continuous efforts to motivate Sikh students to prepare for competitive examinations and contribute to the country through administrative services. As part of this initiative, all Sikh candidates who have cleared the UPSC exam will be honoured with a cash reward of ₹1 lakh each.
