Deputy Commissioner orders revenue officials to work on war footing
Kapurthala (September 12):Â Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal said that Special Girdawari is being started in flood-affected areas from September 13, for which SDMs have been appointed as nodal officers.
Today, addressing a meeting with the officers of various departments , Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal said that efforts are being made by the district administration on war footing for the rehabilitation of flood-affected areas.
He said that three villages have been allotted to each Patwari for Special Girdawari of flood-affected areas, who will submit the report to the SDMs on a daily basis and after their evaluation, it will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
He said that the revenue department officials should ensure that the special girdawari work is done as soon as possible with full enthusiasm.
He also said that the revenue officials should inform the villagers in advance through the Munadi during the special girdawari and no flood victim should be deprived of the compensation due.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is fully committed to the health protection of the people as the flood waters recede and orders have been given to the health department officials to form teams and conduct door-to-door health check-ups and distribute necessary medicines. Along with this, MC officials also conducting fogging to prevent mosquitoes and dengue.
He ordered the municipal corporations, municipal councils and nagar panchayats to make temporary arrangements for clean drinking water tankers wherever there is a problem of clean drinking water due to floods.
He asked the officials of the Public Works and Mandi Board to visit the flood-affected areas and ensure that the roads damaged due to flood water are repaired on a first-come, first-served basis so that the transportation problems of the people can be resolved.
Apart from this, the officials of the Animal Husbandry Department have also been instructed to deploy more veterinary doctors in the teams of the department so that the health check-up and treatment of the livestock can be further intensified. Along with this, the teams should reach the homes of the people and ensure the health check-up and treatment of the animals.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Navneet Kaur Bal, Alka Kalia SDM Sultanpur Lodhi, Dr. Irwin Kaur SDM Kapurthala, Davy Goyal SDS Bholath, Jashanjit Singh SDS Phagwara, Assistant Commissioner Vishal Watts and officials of all the departments were present.
