Thai authorities initiate deportation process for Luthra brothers in Goa nightclub fire case

New Delhi: Thai authorities have initiated the process to deport Goa nightclub owners Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra to India in connection with the December 6 fire at a nightclub in North Goa that claimed 25 lives.

Indian officials said the Indian Embassy in Bangkok is in touch with Thai authorities and is closely monitoring the developments. The Luthra brothers were detained in Phuket after the embassy intervened, officials confirmed.

Sources said Thai authorities are acting in accordance with local laws while processing the deportation. The brothers, who own the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in North Goa, had left for Phuket shortly after the deadly fire incident.

An Interpol Blue Corner Notice was issued against the two to trace their location and gather additional information as part of the ongoing investigation into the tragedy.
