Yamunanagar: Three children drowned in the Western Yamuna Canal in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district on Sunday, police said.
According to officials, the children, aged 12, 14, and 15, were residents of Budiya village in Yamunanagar. They reportedly tried to save themselves but could not come out due to the depth of the water. Locals present at the spot attempted to rescue them but were unsuccessful.
Police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were informed and reached the spot immediately, launching a search operation. After about 20-25 minutes, the bodies of the three children were recovered from the canal.
Police have informed the families about the incident.
