Washington: The US Department of Justice on Tuesday released a fresh batch of documents linked to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, indicating that President Donald Trump traveled on Epstein’s private jet more frequently than previously known.
According to a January 7, 2020, email written by a New York prosecutor, flight records show that Trump flew on Epstein’s aircraft at least eight times during the 1990s. The email noted that on at least four of those flights, Epstein’s close associate Ghislaine Maxwell was also on board.
The records further mention one flight in which the only listed passengers were Epstein, Trump and a 20-year-old unidentified woman.
The disclosures contrast with Trump’s statement made in 2024, when he said he had never been on Epstein’s plane or visited his private island.
The newly released documents are part of a larger tranche of material made public by the Justice Department as part of ongoing transparency efforts related to the Epstein case. Officials have said that the release of documents does not imply criminal wrongdoing by individuals named in the records.
