Washington: US President Donald Trump on Friday announced that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“This is an important breakthrough in the investigation of a targeted killing that has raised new threats about political violence in the United States,” Trump said in an interview aired on Fox News. “I’m saying with all confidence, we’ve got him. The person closest to him said, ‘This is him.’”
Trump added that a minister working with law enforcement had handed over the suspect to authorities.
A law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the suspect as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah.
