Minneapolis: Two children were killed and 17 others injured in a shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis on Wednesday, police said. The incident occurred during the first week of classes at the Annunciation Catholic School.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said the attacker, identified as Hamalvar, was armed with a rifle, shotgun and pistol. He walked towards the church in Lesver and opened fire through the windows at children seated on benches during a prayer meeting.
The deceased were aged 8 and 10. Among the injured, 14 were children. The attacker was also killed in the incident, and police believe he shot himself.
Mayor and police officials said dozens of children were inside the hall at the time of the attack. The matter is under investigation.
