MOGA: Two masked men opened fire at the residence of AAP leader Daljit Raju in Darvesh village in the early hours of Thursday, firing an estimated 23 to 24 rounds before fleeing the spot.
Raju said he, his wife and daughter were asleep on the first floor when the firing began, and the family narrowly escaped. He said they saw two masked men shooting at the house from close range before the attackers fled, taking advantage of the darkness.
CCTV footage showed the assailants arriving on a motorcycle while wearing masks. They parked the vehicle near the main gate of the village and walked towards the house. One of the men was seen on camera throwing a four-page note inside the compound.
According to Raju, the note carried a threatening message allegedly written by the Kala Rana group, demanding Rs 5 crore. Police have begun an investigation and are examining the CCTV footage to identify the attackers.
