Two Punjab soldiers killed in Kulgam encounter ahead of Raksha Bandhan

Srinagar: Two soldiers from Punjab lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Sepoy Harminder Singh, 26, of Badinpur village in Fatehgarh Sahib, and Lance Naik Pritpal Singh, 28, of Manupur village in Khanna, were killed in action while serving the nation.

The news, arriving just before Raksha Bandhan, has plunged both families into grief. Pritpal Singh had been married for only 11 months, and his wife had been looking forward to celebrating Rakhi with him at home.

Harminder Singh’s mother and sisters were also waiting for his safe return.

Their sacrifice has left their villages in mourning, with residents paying tribute to the soldiers for their bravery and devotion to duty.
