Chandigarh: Two shooters, who killed Aam Aadmi Party sarpanch in Amritsar last month, fled to Chhattisgarh and went into hiding at a relative’s house in Raipur.
Based on technical inputs and location tracking, Punjab Police traced the accused to Rishabh Apartment in Rajendra Nagar, Raipur.
After confirming the location, a joint team of Punjab Police and Raipur Police conducted a raid on Sunday and arrested the two shooters, identified as Sukhraj and Karmveer.
The accused were produced before a Raipur court and were taken to Amritsar on transit remand. Raipur Police are questioning the shooters’ relatives, while investigations into the murder conspiracy, gang links and the involvement of other accused are ongoing.
