Mansa: Two sisters were killed and their father and brother were seriously injured after a roadways bus hit their scooty in Punjab’s Mansa district on Saturday morning.
The victims, identified as Seema Rani (8) and Meena Rani (14) of Kasba Jhunir, died on the spot. Their father, Binder Ram, and brother, Jassi, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Sardulgarh, where Jassi’s condition is said to be critical.
Family members said the incident occurred when Binder Ram was taking the children to school on a scooty, and a bus coming from behind rammed into them. Seema was a student of Class 3, while Meena was in Class 7.
Police reached the spot soon after the incident, seized the bus, and sent the bodies for postmortem. A case has been registered on the complaint of the family.
