Chandigarh: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit Punjab on Wednesday to assess the situation arising from heavy rains and floods in the state.
Ahead of his visit, Chouhan held discussions with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and state Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian. The talks focused on the impact of floods on farmers and possible measures for relief and rehabilitation.
Officials said the Union Minister’s visit is aimed at reviewing the ground situation and extending support to the state government in dealing with the crisis.
