New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken serious note of a viral video showing IAS officer Rinku Singh Rahi doing sit-ups while holding his ears in front of lawyers. Rahi, who was recently transferred to Shahjahanpur as SDM, has now been attached to the Revenue Council.
The video, which has been widely circulated on social media, shows Rahi attempting to pacify agitated lawyers by performing sit-ups with a microphone in hand. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday during a dispute, just two days after his transfer from Mathura to Shahjahanpur.
Rahi, an IAS officer selected under the disabled quota, has previously been in the news for his outspoken conduct. His public act has triggered criticism from administrative circles, prompting immediate action from the state government.
The state government has not officially commented on the reason behind his attachment to the Revenue Council, but sources suggest that the move was in response to the video.
