New Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation has been accepted, Rajya Sabha Speaker Ghanshyam Tiwari informed on Tuesday.
Dhankhar, who had cited health reasons in his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu, did not attend the proceedings of the House today.
On Monday, Dhankhar sent his resignation letter to the President, stepping down from the post with immediate effect.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a post on ‘X’, wished Dhankhar good health. “Jagdeep Dhankhar has had the opportunity to serve the country in many roles, including as Vice President of India. I wish him good health,” the Prime Minister wrote.
