Amritsar: The Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday conducted fresh raids at the residences of senior Punjab Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia in Majitha and Green Avenue in Amritsar in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
According to officials, the vigilance team measured the entire building of Majithia’s office and examined each section, with assistance from local administration and staff present during the operation. Documents kept in the office are also being scrutinised.
While there has been no official statement from the Vigilance Bureau regarding the exact reason for the raids, Punjab Police have beefed up security in the area, with roads leading to Majithia’s Green Avenue residence barricaded and public movement restricted.
