Khanna: A woman senior constable was injured after a police team was allegedly attacked during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Daumajra village under the Payal police station area of Khanna, police said on Friday.
The incident took place around 7 am on January 21, when police were conducting a search operation following inputs about suspicious activities in the village. According to officials, when the team reached a house to carry out a search, family members objected and allegedly assaulted the policemen, preventing them from performing their official duties.

Soon after the incident, the Payal police registered a case against the accused under sections related to assaulting a government employee, misbehaving with a woman police officer, obstructing official duty and other relevant provisions of law.
Police said four people — Lali, Pooja, Seerat and Paramjit Singh alias Pamma — have been arrested in connection with the incident. Efforts are on to identify and arrest eight to 10 other unidentified persons involved in the attack.
Officials said the remaining accused would be arrested soon on the basis of viral video footage and other evidence collected during the investigation.
