Chandigarh: A 30-year-old woman was found murdered in broad daylight inside the bathroom of Rose Garden on Saturday. Her blood-soaked body was recovered with deep injury marks on her neck, and a knife was found lying near the corpse.
DSP Dalveer said the deceased has been identified as Deeksha, originally from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh and living in Sarangpur, Chandigarh for the past few years. He added that the fingerprints on the recovered knife are being examined and the accused will be arrested soon.
Initial police investigation revealed that Deeksha had been living separately from her husband for the past one year after a domestic dispute. Police suspect that her throat was slit with the knife found at the scene.
The bathroom has been sealed and the body has been placed in the Sector 16 mortuary. A purse recovered from the spot has also been taken into custody. Police teams have begun a detailed investigation into the case.
