Ludhiana: The body of a young woman was found in a semi-naked condition inside a room of an Indo-American restaurant in Ludhiana on Friday, triggering panic in the area. The woman had visible injury marks on her face, while blood was seen coming from her nose and smeared across her face.
According to restaurant staff, the woman had arrived at the restaurant with a young man around noon. The two did not interact with anyone and went straight to a room. When the room remained locked until evening, staff members grew suspicious and opened the door.
They found the woman lying motionless in a semi-naked condition inside the room, following which the police were informed.
Police said preliminary investigation revealed that the woman’s companion had left the restaurant without informing anyone. A cutter was recovered from the bed in the room, and injuries were also found near the woman’s eyebrows, suggesting possible violence.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Police said efforts are on to identify the woman and trace the man who accompanied her. Further investigation is underway.
