MUMBAI: The ICC on Tuesday released the schedule for the T20 World Cup 2026, confirming that the high-voltage group stage match between India and Pakistan will be played in Colombo on February 15. The tournament will take place across eight venues in seven cities in India and Sri Lanka, featuring 55 matches over 29 days.
At the launch event held in Mumbai, the ICC announced that Pakistan will play the opening match against the Netherlands on February 7. During the group stage, three matches will be scheduled each day. The final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The ICC further said that if Pakistan qualifies for the knockout stage, its matches will be held in Sri Lanka. A total of 20 teams will compete in the tournament, divided into four groups.
India’s World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma has been appointed the brand ambassador for the tournament.
