New Delhi: India will bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad as India has officially submitted its official bid on Monday.
Earlier, the Union government cleared the proposal last week and this proposal had also been cleared by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on August 14.
India’s chances of hosting the Games have improved after Canada withdrew from the race. Last month, a team led by Darren Hall, director of Commonwealth Sport, visited Ahmedabad’s proposed venues and met with Gujarat government officials.
Commonwealth Sport is the governing body responsible for selecting the host country for the Games.
