New Delhi: Senior IPS officer Parag Jain has been appointed as the new chief of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the country’s external intelligence agency. Jain will replace Ravi Sinha, who is due to retire on June 30.
Jain, a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Punjab cadre, is currently heading RAW’s Aviation Research Centre (ARC), which handles aerial surveillance and related intelligence tasks.
He has expertise in intelligence gathering and issues related to India’s neighbourhood and has two decades of experience in RAW.
Jain’s tenure as RAW chief will be for two years. He is currently the second-in-command in the agency, next only to Sinha.
