Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party expelled three of its rebel MLAs — Abhay Singh, Rakesh Pratap Singh and Manoj Kumar Pandey — accusing them of openly supporting the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Abhay Singh represents the Gosainganj constituency, Rakesh Pratap Singh is the MLA from Gauriganj, and Manoj Kumar Pandey is elected from Unchahar.
“All three MLAs have been expelled from the party for supporting communal, divisive, negative and anti-farmer, anti-women, youth and anti-business, anti-employment and anti-marginalised forces contrary to the principles of the Samajwadi Party,” the party said in a post on social media platform ‘X’.
The expulsion comes amid growing speculation about internal dissent within the party ranks ahead of the upcoming political developments in Uttar Pradesh.
