Dhaka: Two separate courts in Bangladesh on Wednesday framed charges against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 99 others in connection with six cases related to irregularities in the allotment of plots in a housing project.
According to the state-run BSS news agency, Judge Rabiul Alam of Dhaka’s Special Judge Court-4 framed the charges in three of the cases.
In one case, 17 people, including Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana, were charged. In another, charges were framed against 18 individuals, including Hasina and Azmina Siddique. A third case names Hasina and Radwan Mujeeb Siddique among the accused.
The court has fixed August 13 for recording witness statements and has issued arrest warrants against the accused.
