Residents support Kohli’s ‘Book Culture’ message as development work starts in Jalandhar Central
Jalandhar News: Development work for laying a sewerage pipeline worth approximately ₹20 lakh began today in Datar Nagar under the Jalandhar Central constituency. The project was initiated by Jalandhar Central In-charge Nitin Kohli, and is expected to provide major relief to residents who have been facing sewerage issues in the area for a long time.
Speaking on the occasion, Nitin Kohli said that the sewerage pipeline project in Datar Nagar is an important step towards strengthening the basic infrastructure of the locality. He said the project was initiated after taking into consideration the problems faced by residents, and once completed it will offer a permanent solution to the issue of wastewater drainage.
He further said that similar development works are being carried out continuously in different areas of Jalandhar Central to ensure that people receive better civic amenities. Kohli added that whether it is the availability of clean drinking water, sewerage facilities, sanitation arrangements, or other essential services, he remains committed to addressing the concerns of residents.
A special and inspiring moment was also witnessed during the event. Recently, Nitin Kohli had initiated a campaign encouraging society to move from a “bouquet culture” to a “book culture.” Reflecting the impact of this message, residents of Datar Nagar honoured him not with a bouquet but by presenting a book.

He said that when a positive initiative is embraced by society and people make it a part of their lives, its importance grows even further. He added that books are a great source of knowledge and promoting a culture of reading is a positive and inspiring step for society.
On this occasion, Trilok Singh Saran, Manish Sharma, and several local residents were also present. The residents thanked Nitin Kohli for initiating the development work and said that the project would resolve a major problem in the area.
