350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
Patiala Sangat, including Cabinet Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, MLAs and prominent leaders, extends full support to the Kirtan event
Patiala News: As part of the ongoing commemorative programmes being organized by the Punjab Government to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Hind Di Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, a large number of devotees participated in the Gurbani Kirtan at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Patiala, during the grand Kirtan Darbar held on Tuesday evening.
On this solemn occasion, Bhai Davinder Singh Ji Sohana Sahib Wale, Hazuri Raagi Jatha of Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Amritsar Bhai Simranjit Singh, and Bhai Surinder Singh–Bhai Nachhattar Singh—divinely inspired the Sangat through their paavan kirtan, recounting the supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and the martyrdom of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji. They also reflected on the historic 350th anniversary of the Gurtagaddi of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, who joined the Sangat, informed that the Nagar Kirtan commencing from Sri Damdama Sahib on November 20 will arrive in Patiala on November 21. He said the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is observing the unparalleled martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Three Gursikhs with utmost devotion and respect.
He added that Guru Sahib’s supreme sacrifice was for the protection of humanity and religious freedom, so that the special events are also being organized at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25. These efforts aim to share Guru Sahib’s life, teachings and Gurbani with people across the globe.
The event witnessed the presence of MLAs Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, Gurdev Singh Dev Mann, Gurlal Ghanaur, Neena Mittal, Kulwant Singh Bazigar, Baltej Pannu, PRTC Chairman Ranjodh Singh Hadana, Mayor Kundan Gogia, Chairman Tejinder Mehta, Chairman Megh Chand Shermajra, Chairman Baljinder Singh Dhillon, Inderjit Singh Sandhu, State Secretary Jagdeep Singh Jagga, Harinder Kohli, Baljinder Singh Jharwan, councillors and a large gathering of devotees.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav expressed gratitude to the entire Sangat of Patiala and to organizations that contributed to the success of the Kirtan Darbar. She especially thanked Baba Deep Singh Sewa Society head MC Ranjit Singh Chandok; Kar Sewa Sant Kashmir Singh Bhuri Wale for preparing langar; Sant Amar Singh Mukhi Rara Sahib and Trust Secretary Randhir Singh Dhindsa for sewa; Sri Guru Singh Sabha Management Committee President Baljinder Singh Bedi, Secretary Baljinder Singh Diwan and committee members; Maryada Committee Chairman Giani Sukhdev Singh (Former Head Granthi); Prof. Jasvir Kaur and Prof. Paramvir Singh. She also acknowledged Guru Nanak Sewa Dal, Polish Sewa Dal, Naujawan Sewa Dal Patiala, Sewa Mission team and the Sangat of Patiala for their wholehearted participation.
She said the district administration made every effort to manage the Kirtan Samagam with full devotion, reverence and discipline, dedicated to honouring the supreme sacrifice of Guru Sahib.
