Laljit Bhullar Urges People to Elect the AAP Candidate, Says, Development Will Accelerate When You Have Your Own (‘AAP’ da) MLA
Tarn Taran Bye Election: Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has always practiced politics of development and contests elections based solely on its work. Addressing a press conference in Tarn Taran on Thursday along with AAP leader Dr. S.S. Ahluwalia, Minister Bhullar stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, development grants worth ₹145 crore have so far been released for the Tarn Taran constituency.
Targetting the opposition parties, Bhullar said, “We do the politics of work, while the opposition indulges only in the politics of mudslinging against each other.” Listing the achievements of the Mann government, he said that so far 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics are operating successfully across Punjab, providing free treatment, medicines, and diagnostic tests. Under the CM Health Insurance Scheme, every family can get a health cover of ₹10 lakh. He added that 90% of households in the state now have zero electricity bills, and farmers are receiving uninterrupted daytime power supply for their fields.
The AAP leader further said that the Mann government has provided over 56,000 government jobs to deserving youth purely on merit, and preparations are underway to offer over 1.5 lakh more jobs in the near future. Government schools are being upgraded as ‘Schools of Eminence’, and teachers are being sent to countries like Singapore for training so that students from government schools can compete in major academic fields. He added that the state has attracted investment worth over ₹70,000 crore, which is creating new employment opportunities for the youth.
Minister Bhullar informed that on Friday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will visit Tarn Taran to accompany AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu for filing his nomination papers. He invited the people of the constituency to participate in large numbers in the roadshow starting at 10 AM from Bodiwala Chowk. Bhullar appealed to the people to vote for the AAP candidate in recognition of the developmental work carried out by the Mann government. “This is your own government,” he said, adding that “when you have your own MLA, the pace of development will be even faster.”
AAP leader Dr. S.S. Ahluwalia also presented a detailed account of the development work done by the Mann government. He said that the government has released ₹145 crore for the development of Tarn Taran, which includes ₹36 crore under the Municipal Development Fund, ₹55 crore from the Punjab Mandi Board for roads, ₹24 crore for rural development, and ₹5 crore under the Rangla Punjab campaign.
