All major issues of Urban Estate residents to be resolved within a fixed timeline: Dr. Balbir Singh

To review grievances, Health Minister holds meeting with PDA authorities and residents

Patiala News: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today chaired a meeting with CA Aparna MB of the Patiala Development Authority, ACA Paramdeep Singh, and members of various Residents Welfare Associations to discuss the key issues being faced by the residents of Urban Estate, Patiala.

Dr. Balbir Singh heard all the concerns raised by the residents and assured them that all major problems of Urban Estate will be resolved within a fixed and time-bound schedule. He announced that a Community Health Centre will be established in Urban Estate. He further informed that a proposal to open a new Government School in the area will be discussed with the Education Minister. Meanwhile, suitable land for the project is being identified.

He said that health and education remain top priorities of the Bhagwant Singh Mann Government.

The Health Minister also assured residents that he will hold a follow-up review meeting in the third week of March with the Residents Welfare Association to assess the progress made by the concerned departments.

During the meeting, residents raised several demands, including the construction of an indoor badminton court in Phase-1, a Sewa Kender, a Community Centre, repair and development of roads, rainwater harvesting, measures to manage traffic congestion, control of stray dogs and stray cattle, improvement in garbage collection, and the provision of additional public toilets and other civic amenities.

Dr. Balbir Singh directed CA PDA and the concerned officials to take prompt action and ensure that all required works are completed within a fixed timeframe.
CA Aparna MB assured the Minister that necessary action will be taken as instructed.

The meeting was attended by Residents Welfare Association members including Preetinder Singh, Monty Ghuman, Prof. R.S. Ghumman, Varinder Sood, Trade Wing President Surveer Singh, and other officials.
