Punjab E News: From Dediapada, Gujarat the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) tore into the BJP over the arrest of MLA Chaitar Vasava, calling it a cover-up after massive corruption was exposed. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal called out the BJP for looting public funds and silencing tribal voices through state repression. Emphasising AAP as the real alternative, he called for a people-led mobilisation against 30 years of BJP misrule.
With local polls ahead, the AAP vowed to field common citizens and turn Gujarat’s anger into action. During this, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, AAP Gujarat Prabhari Gopal Rai, Gujarat State President Isudan Gadhvi and MLAs Gopal Italia and Hemant Khav were also present.
Addressing the Jansabha in Gujarat, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal pointed to the pain and neglect of tribal communities, stating, “You all have left your work and come here in such a massive gathering because the BJP government has, for several years, continuously exploited and oppressed the tribal (Adivasi) community. They have snatched away your rights. The entire tribal community today is deeply angry with the BJP. Over the years, you gave your votes to BJP leaders, you also gave votes to Congress leaders — but not one of them raised your voice.”
Recalling the emergence of a new Adivasi voice, he continued, “In 2022, three years ago, elections were held. From Dediyapada, a young tribal leader — Chaitar Vasava — stood for election. He is an educated young man, your son, a brother from your own community. A well-educated, honest individual who stepped forward to serve society. You gave him a massive mandate and sent him to the Assembly as your MLA.”
“Since the day Chaitar Vasava became an MLA, he has been relentlessly raising your issues. BJP has never built proper schools for your children; the existing ones are in a deplorable state — Chaitar Vasava raised the issue of education. Government hospitals are in ruins — he raised the issue of healthcare. He raised concerns about electricity, water, forests, and land. The roads in the entire tribal belt are in pathetic condition — he raised those too,” asserted the AAP Chief.
Revealing how corruption was unearthed, he said, “Gradually, Chaitar Vasava began to receive records, documents — government papers. He discovered that even the money allocated for schools was being looted. Every year, the Gujarat BJP government sends funds for schools — where does that money go? They send money for hospitals — where does that go? Funds are sent for road construction — but the roads remain broken. Where does it all vanish? Chaitar Vasava realised that this money never reaches the people; it ends up in the pockets of corrupt leaders.”
Exposing the scale of political greed, the AAP Supremo added, “A minor leader becomes an MLA. Before getting elected, he rides a bicycle and lives in a broken home. But within five years, he owns ten palatial bungalows and ten luxury cars. Where does this wealth come from? It’s stolen from your children’s schools, from your hospitals, from the roads that were meant to connect your villages. Chaitar Vasava began exposing this massive web of corruption. He didn’t hold back. He uncovered scam after scam. And for the first time, someone truly became the voice of the Adivasi community — that voice was Chaitar Vasava.”
Warning about the political backlash, Arvind Kejriwal said, “The BJP started getting scared. They feared that if Chaitar Vasava keeps raising the voice of Adivasis, the community will stop voting for them. Then Chaitar Vasava uncovered corruption in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). He saw that you’re supposed to get 100 days of guaranteed work under this scheme, that too on minimum wages. Who does such hard labour? Only the poorest of the poor — those who don’t have even two full meals a day — go to work under MGNREGA out of sheer compulsion. The BJP leaders are so shameless, so vile, that they even looted MGNREGA money meant for the poorest.”
Describing the fallout, Arvind Kejriwal further said, “Chaitar Vasava exposed this MGNREGA scam. First, he raised the issue in the Assembly. Then he took it to the media. After that, he took it to the streets. He didn’t stop until he got action. Even though the minister did not resign, Chaitar Vasava ensured that the minister’s two sons were sent to jail. Today, it is because of Chaitar Vasava that a ₹2,500 crore scam in MGNREGA has come to light — a total scam of ₹2,500 crore has been exposed. And for this reason, Chaitar Vasava has been sent to jail.”
Dismissing all accusations, he added, “Chaitar Vasava has committed no crime. He has not done anything wrong. The BJP got the police to tamper with the CCTV footage. Chaitar Vasava has been framed. A false case has been filed against him. The BJP thinks that by sending him to jail, they’ll scare him. But Chaitar Vasava is not someone who can be frightened. He has been to jail several times before.”
Issuing a sharp warning to the ruling party, the AAP Chief declared, “Oh! BJP leaders, Chaitar Vasava is a lion. You cannot scare him by throwing him in jail. You sent leaders of the AAP to jail. Last year, you kept me in jail for a full year — you thought I would be afraid. You jailed Manish Sisodia — you thought he would break. You jailed Satyendar Jain and Sanjay Singh — thinking the party would collapse. But our party became even stronger. We are not a party that gets intimidated.”
He continued, “There are still two years left — elections will be held in 2027. Just wait and see — they will send Gopal Italia to jail. They will send Isudan Gadhvi to jail too. There’s a saying — ‘Vinaash kaale vipareet buddhi’ — when destruction nears, the mind turns corrupt. Their minds have been tainted. When God wants to destroy someone, He first corrupts their thinking. The BJP’s thinking has been corrupted. The more they send our leaders to jail, the stronger the public will rise.”
Recalling his recent visit, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Yesterday I went to Modasa, where a Mahapanchayat of cattle-rearing farmers was held. I was shocked. These poor cattle-rearing farmers were protesting after one of their own passed away. Every year in June, the government gives them a bonus, usually 17%. But this year, the BJP government withheld their bonus — they simply swallowed it.”
Exposing the police crackdown, he added, “When the farmers protested, the BJP government lathi-charged them, used tear gas shells. One cattle-rearer, Ashok Chaudhary, died in the violence. AAP leader Isudan Gadhvi went to his home — there isn’t even a roof above his head. While BJP leaders have looted the farmers’ money to build grand mansions and buy land everywhere, the cattle-rearer’s home has no roof.”
Highlighting continued exploitation, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Every morning, a cattle-rearer goes to the dairy to sell milk, but even the machines that measure the fat content are tampered with — they’re looted there too. Roads are broken across Gujarat, flyovers are collapsing, and spurious liquor is being openly sold. The people of Gujarat will have to rise now.”
Calling for public awakening, he emphasised, “No one will come to save you. But when you rise, even God will stand with you. Aam Aadmi Party gives tickets to ordinary people. Chaitar Vasava is a common person, not a politician’s son. He has no uncle, father, or relative in politics. Neither do I. Nor does Isudan Gadhvi, nor does Bhagwant Mann. We are all ordinary people.”
Announcing upcoming plans, Arvind Kejriwal said, “In the next 4-5 months, there will be Taluka Panchayat, District Panchayat, and Municipal elections. I urge the youth and the people — come forward. Aam Aadmi Party will give tickets to the poor, to common children, to common youth — to your children. Take responsibility for your villages and areas. No one will come from above, no one will come from America. We’ll have to stand up for ourselves. Are you ready to stand?”
Calling for mobilisation, he said, “Are you ready to take revenge for Chaitar Vasava? The panchayat elections are coming. Come forward. Give your names. We will give you tickets. Then all of you must go from door to door — in every house — and take this fight forward. This time, we must make the BJP and Congress forfeit their deposits.”
Warning against Congress, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Beware of the Congress party. Gujarat doesn’t have just a BJP government — it has a coalition government of BJP and Congress. They loot together. Your MGNREGA funds, road funds — BJP and Congress leaders loot them together. The loot of your schools, hospitals, water, forests, land, flyovers, and fake liquor is their joint business — it’s a partnership racket.”
Exposing political collusion, he added, “Congress does not want to defeat BJP. They are hand in glove. Until now, Gujarat had no real opposition — now the AAP is the true opposition. We will fight shoulder to shoulder with you. But you must take responsibility. You must come forward.”
Rallying the Tribal community, he declared, “From this stage, I want to say — every single person here, every member of the Tribal community, must take revenge for Chaitar Vasava’s arrest. Such revenge that they never dare look at him again. Chaitar Vasava’s message should reach every home, every village. Northern Gujarat’s cattle-rearers are fighting. Tribals are fighting in their region. These struggles must now unite and become a collective Gujarat-wide fight.”
Calling for unity, he said, “All of Gujarat must come together. My heart tells me — 30 years ago, Congress ruled. Then BJP ruled for 30 years. In the Gita, Lord Krishna says time moves in cycles. Now that cycle has completed. BJP’s time is up. Time to say: Bye Bye BJP.”
Every BJP promise is a ‘jumla’, they’re ruining the country: Bhagwant Mann
Meanwhile, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann stated, “Being an Tribal means having rights over water, forests, and land — but the BJP is selling off the water, the forests, the land, and the entire nation. When an Adivasi awakens, no storm can stop them. But they must not feel alone — the Aam Aadmi Party stands firmly with the Adivasi community and with Chaitar Vasava.”
Highlighting Chaitar Vasava’s struggle, he said, “Chaitar Vasava has gone to jail standing in front of tractors in defense of farmers’ rights earlier as well. The police deleted CCTV footage and filed false cases. BJP has done this before — filing fake cases and jailing AAP leaders. But their paperwork will run out before our people ever do.”
Speaking on Gujarat’s political landscape, Bhagwant Mann said, “The BJP has been in power in Gujarat for 30 years. The public may remain silent for 30 years, but when it wakes up, it settles 30 years of scores in just 30 minutes. The time for accountability has come. Congress and BJP are hand in glove — there was no real opposition in Gujarat. But AAP has opened a third path through the ‘jhadu’ button, one that will clean up this corrupt system.”
Appealing to the people, he said, “Whether it’s rain or sunshine, only unity can shake the BJP’s walls. AAP talks about education, healthcare, electricity, water, and employment — not hatred or conflict.”
Showcasing AAP’s achievements, Bhagwant Mann stated, “In Punjab, 55,000 government jobs were given in three years — without bribes or recommendations. Appointment letters reach homes based on merit, with the message: come, your chair awaits you. Meanwhile, in Gujarat, recruitment exam papers — whether for collectors or other top positions — are leaked every year. Adivasi children wake up at 3 a.m. and study in the fields, but paper leaks shatter their dreams. This is the result of a broken and corrupt system.”
He concluded, “AAP stopped paper leaks in Punjab and will do the same in Gujarat. BJP’s every promise is a ‘jumla’. This country belongs to 140 crore people, but it is being driven toward destruction. The people must awaken, unite, and demand their rights.”
