Ludhiana: The body of a young woman was found stuffed in a sack on a road divider on Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana on Wednesday after two motorcycle-borne men were seen dumping it and fleeing the spot.
According to police, the two men arrived on a blue motorcycle and threw the sack on the divider. A roadside vendor questioned them about the foul smell coming from the sack, to which the men claimed they were disposing of rotten mangoes. However, when locals opened the sack, they discovered the woman’s body and immediately alerted the police.
Eyewitnesses said one of the suspects was wearing a private security agency uniform. Several people at the spot recorded videos of the men while they were dumping the sack. The suspects fled on foot, leaving behind their blue motorcycle with registration number PB10CE7668 before police arrived.
Sub-inspector Amarjit Singh said the woman’s body was found bleeding from the nose, and efforts were underway to identify the deceased. Police have obtained photographs of the suspects and are scanning CCTV footage in the area. Singh said preliminary investigation suggests the suspects and the victim appeared to be migrants.
