Cabinet Minister inaugurates newly renovated Shri Guru Ravidass Chowk

Says, Punjab Govt committed to spreading Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings around the globe

Jalandhar News: Punjab Horticulture, Defence Services Welfare and Freedom Fighters Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Friday inaugurated the newly renovated and beautified Shri Guru Ravidass Chowk in the city ahead of the 649th Parkash Purab celebrations of Shri Guru Ravidass Ji. The project has been undertaken to facilitate devotees and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area.

Accompanied by Mayor Vineet Dhir, Chairman District Planning Committee Amritpal Singh and senior AAP leader Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, the Minister lauded the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar for completing the renovation within record time.

Extending greetings to the people of the state and country on the holy occasion, Mr. Bhagat said that large numbers of devotees from India and abroad visit Sri Guru Ravidass Dham at Boota Mandi to pay obeisance every year. Keeping in view their sentiments and faith, the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has undertaken a slew of initiatives, including the beautification of the chowk, to ensure better facilities for the sangat.

He said the renovated chowk, dedicated to Guru Ravidass Ji, would not only add to the city’s beauty but also provide a spiritually uplifting experience to devotees participating in the Parkash Purab celebrations.

Highlighting another major step, the Minister informed that the state government has also transferred land for establishing a Bani Adhyayan Centre to spread the teachings of Guru Ravidass Ji to every nook and corner of Punjab.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving religious heritage across the state.
