Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora flags off seven trucks of ration kits, two ambulances to flood affected districts

Ludhiana News: Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora along with Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, GLADA Chief Administrator Sandeep Kumar, MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal on Tuesday flagged off seven trucks carrying ration kits and two ambulances with essential medicines, staff to support people in flood-affected districts across Punjab.

The aid has been dispatched to Ferozepur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Fazilka, and Gurdaspur districts.

The relief trucks are loaded with critical supplies, including 3,500 kg of rice, 1.44 lakh packets of biscuits, 1,000 bars of soap, 2,100 packets of Maggi, 2,000 bottles of water, 6,300 packets of dry milk, 125 kg of dry milk (large packets), 12,000 kg of cattle feed, 10 boxes of essential medicines, 14,000 sanitary pads and 10,000 pieces of garments. The medical staff has also been deployed with the ambulances.

Speaking at the dispatch event, Minister Arora emphasized the Punjab government’s unwavering resolve to provide immediate assistance to those impacted by the floods. “It is a bounden duty to support the people in this hour of need,” he stated. “These relief materials are a step toward ensuring that affected families have access to food, hygiene essentials, and other necessities to help them through this crisis”, he added.

Arora also stated that the Punjab government has been continually monitoring the flood situation and is prepared to deploy additional resources as needed. He also urged residents to cooperate with local authorities and relief teams to ensure efficient distribution of aid.

The Minister also expressed gratitude to Ludhiana’s industrialists including Octave Apparels, Happy Steels, Kay Jain Processors, Subhash Polytex, The Bharat Industrial Corporation, Amar Autotech, Raj Superwhite, Ritesh International amd Mrs Bector Food for their generous support in aiding those affected. He also thanked DMCH Principal Dr GS Wander and Dr Bishav Mohan for announcing medical camps in flood affected areas from tomorrow.
