Assures uninterrupted funding; directs officials to maintain quality standards
Jalandhar News: Punjab Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Friday conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing development works in Jalandhar city and directed officials of the Municipal Corporation to ensure their completion within stipulated timelines.
Chairing a meeting attended by Mayor Vineet Dhir, Chairman District Planning Committee Amritpal Singh, and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, the Minister said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to strengthening urban infrastructure and enhancing basic civic amenities for residents.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the progress of major projects, including road construction, water supply augmentation and sewerage system upgrades. He instructed officials to maintain strict supervision over all works and warned that any compromise on quality, particularly in road construction and other public infrastructure projects, would not be tolerated.
Emphasising that there is no shortage of funds for development works in the state, the Minister said the government is undertaking several forward-looking initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and upgrading civic facilities in urban areas.
Ward councillors present at the meeting also put forth proposals for new development works in their respective areas. The Minister directed officials to prepare detailed project reports at the earliest to facilitate the timely commencement of these works.
