CM Health Yojana Will Be Monitored Daily to Ensure Every Eligible Family Is Covered” – Dr. Balbir Singh

Health Minister Reviews Development Works in Patiala Rural Constituency

Patiala News: Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today convened a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia and other senior officials of district administration to review the progress of various ongoing and proposed development works in the Patiala Rural Assembly Constituency.

During the meeting, Dr. Balbir Singh reviewed the enrolment status of the Chief Minister’s Health Yojana, under which health insurance coverage of up to ₹10 lakh is being provided to every eligible family in the state. He emphasized that the implementation of the scheme would be monitored on a daily basis to ensure that maximum beneficiaries are covered and no eligible family is left out.

The Health Minister also reviewed the upgradation of village ponds, directing that these should be developed on the Thapar Model to ensure proper sanitation and environmental improvement. In addition, he took stock of the distribution of five-marla residential plots to eligible beneficiaries in the constituency.

Reiterating the Punjab Government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare at the grassroots level, Dr. Balbir Singh stated that village clinics would be opened in every village of his constituency. He further said that the development of sports grounds in every village is among his top priorities to promote sports and channelize youth energy in a positive direction.

Dr. Balbir Singh also stressed the need to provide pucca houses to beneficiaries currently residing in kachcha houses and directed Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia to ensure expeditious implementation of all related schemes. He instructed the Deputy Commissioner to hold weekly review meetings with concerned officers to ensure timely execution of all development works.

The Health Minister further directed that there should be close coordination between the district administration and his office, and all nodal officers must ensure transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the implementation of government schemes. He underlined that all development works in the constituency must be completed within stipulated timelines.

Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia assured the Health Minister of full cooperation from the district administration and stated that all directions would be implemented in a time-bound and result-oriented manner.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners Damanjit Singh Mann, Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh and Simarpreet Kaur, SDM Harjot Kaur other senior district officers.
