COMMISSIONERATE POLICE JALANDHAR CONDUCTS CASO OPERATION AT BUS STAND

Jalandhar News (September 8): Under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur and Joint CP Sh. Sandeep Sharma, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar carried out a special CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) at the Jalandhar Bus Stand. This operation was part of the state-level campaign “War Against Drugs”, aimed at curbing drug trafficking through public transport and further strengthening public safety.

The operation was led by ACP Model Town along with the SHO of Police Station Division No. 6 and the In-charge of the Bus Stand Police Post. A total of 40 police personnel were divided into different teams to make the search process more effective.

During the operation, the PAIS app was used to verify the criminal records of suspicious individuals. Additionally, as part of the security measures, CCTV cameras were checked for proper functioning, while buses, passengers’ luggage, and vehicle parking areas at the bus stand were thoroughly inspected.

The purpose of this action was to prevent the smuggling of narcotics in public places. Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has appealed to citizens to fully cooperate during such CASO operations and to immediately report any illegal activities to the police helpline number 112.
