Court extends Bikram Singh Majithia’s judicial custody by 14 days

Chandigarh: Former Akali minister Bikram Singh Majithia, who is lodged in Nabha’s New Jail in a disproportionate assets case, appeared before a Mohali court on Friday via video conferencing. The court extended his judicial custody by 14 days.

The court also adjourned the hearing on Majithia’s application seeking a transfer to another barrack till August 5.

The next hearing in the disproportionate assets case will be held on August 14, after the completion of his extended custody.

The court directed that Majithia be produced through video conferencing on that date, citing security arrangements ahead of Independence Day.
