Patiala News (PEN): Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav inspected the ongoing canal water pipeline work near Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib on Friday evening. She directed the Sewerage Board Executive Engineer to ensure the L&T-led pipeline project is completed within a week and the road made traffic-ready without delay.
She was accompanied by ADC Navreet Kaur Sekhon, MC SE Harkiran Singh, EXEN Sewerage Board Dinesh Dhawan, EXEN Drainage Pratham Gambhir, EXEN PWD Piyush Agarwal, Forest Officer Gur Manpreet Singh, and other officials.
Dr. Preeti Yadav said the administration, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to resolving civic issues swiftly. The 24×7 canal water supply project is a major step towards improving urban infrastructure in Patiala.
A special committee comprising engineers from the MC, Drainage, Water Supply, and Sewerage departments has been constituted to drain stagnant water from the PNC channel in the Gurdwara’s outdoor parking and ensure proper cleaning. The Municipal Corporation has also been directed to repair and maintain public toilets at the parking site.
The DC also reviewed roadworks along Dukh Niwaran Sahib Road — from Tripuri T-Point to Khanda Chowk, 18-Phatak Flyover, and areas up to the FCI Godowns- and instructed departments to expedite completion.
Given the heavy traffic and continuous inflow of devotees to Gurdwara Sahib, she emphasized ensuring smooth vehicle movement. The Traffic Police, PWD, MC, L&T, and Water Supply departments have been asked to coordinate so that roads dug for pipeline laying are restored promptly and traffic disruption is minimized.
