Govt and Private schools /colleges to remain close on Nov 4 in Sultanpur Lodhi Sub Division
Sultanpur Lodhi News: In view of the Nagar Kirtan to be organized on November 4 from Gurdwara Sant Ghat Sahib to Gurdwara Shri Ber Sahib, Sultanpur Lodhi, to mark the celebrations of the Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal reviewed the arrangements alongwith SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Toora .
Deputy Commissioner and the SSP took a walkthrough inspection of the entire Nagar Kirtan route from Gurdwara Sant Ghat Sahib to Gurdwara Ber Sahib and reviewed the arrangements made by the administration at various points in the city.
Deputy Commissioner stated that in connection with the Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the district administration has made comprehensive arrangements for security, smooth traffic movement and deployment of medical teams.
He further informed that, keeping in view the devotion of the Sangat (devotees), a holiday has been declared in all government and private schools/colleges of Sultanpur Lodhi Sub-Division on November 4, so that people can participate in the Nagar Kirtan.
In addition, officials of the Municipal Council, Sultanpur Lodhi, have been instructed to ensure complete cleanliness during the Nagar Kirtan and Gurpurab celebrations. For this purpose, additional machinery and sanitation staff have been deployed from Bhulath, Nadala Begowal, and Kapurthala.
Deputy Commissioner also extended his greetings to all devotees on the occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Parkash Purab and urged them to participate wholeheartedly in the religious programs.
He, along with Avtar Singh, Manager of Gurdwara Ber Sahib, and other management members, also reviewed the arrangements around the Gurdwara Sahib premises.
SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Toora said that elaborate arrangements have been made for security, parking, and traffic management during the Parkash Purab. He informed that a route plan has been issued for the convenience of devotees, including alternate routes. Moreover, additional CCTV cameras have been installed for security surveillance.
Among those present were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Navneet Kaur Ball, DSP Dhirendra Verma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Varinderpal Singh Bajwa, SDM Alka Kalia, and other officers.
