Jalandhar News: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today profusely thanked the voters, poll and security staff, candidates and political parties for cooperation in organizing free, fair and peaceful elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that elaborate arrangments were put in place to ensure that people do not face any sort of problem in exercising their franchise during these polls.
He thanked the brave and wise people of district for once again upholding the glorious tradition of exercising their franchise freely without any fear.
He said that polling was completely peaceful and there was no report of any untoward incident from any polling booth in the assembly constituency.
He said that no incident of violence was reported during the voting that started at 8 am in the morning and was completed at 4 pm.
He further said that District Administration had made elaborate security arrangements for today’s polling and a large number of personnel both from civil and Police administration were deployed for smooth and hassle free conduct of polling on all the 1209 polling booths.
