Patiala News: District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Patiala, Sh. Avtar Singh today visited SOS Children’s Village, Rajpura; Children Home, Rajpura; Halfway Home for Mentally Disabled Children, Rajpura; and Yadvendra Puran Bal Niketan, Patiala. He was accompanied by Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA Patiala, Ms. Amandeep Kamboj.
During the visit, Sh. Avtar Singh interacted with the children, inquiring about their education, food, and any problems or grievances they faced. The issues and complaints raised by the children were heard patiently and appropriate directions were issued for their redressal.
The District and Sessions Judge directed the concerned authorities to take special care of the children’s health, education, and overall well-being. Judicial officers also inspected the facilities being provided at the homes. Superintendents of the institutions were instructed to ensure no laxity in maintaining quality standards in food, hygiene, and other essential amenities.
Sh. Avtar Singh informed that children’s homes in Patiala district are regularly inspected to ensure proper living conditions and welfare of the residents.
On this occasion, Ms. Amandeep Kamboj informed that the next National Lok Adalat will be held on December 13, 2025, in District Patiala. She appealed to the public to come forward and get their pending disputes resolved through Lok Adalats to save valuable time and hard-earned money.
She further informed that litigants interested in settlement can request the Presiding Officer of the Court where their case is pending. Even in compoundable criminal cases, parties can apply to have their matters referred to the Lok Adalat. For pre-litigation cases, requests may be made directly to the Secretary, DLSA Patiala.
