Jalandhar News:  Additional District Magistrate–cum–Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amaninder Kaur, exercising the powers vested under Section 163 of the Model Code of Conduct, 2023, has imposed several restrictions within 200 metres of polling booths for the District Council and Panchayat Samiti elections scheduled in Jalandhar on December 14, 2025. These restrictions aim to ensure peaceful, smooth and lawful conduct of the election process as per the Standard Operating Procedure issued by the State Election Commission, Punjab.

According to the orders issued by the Additional District Magistrate, no candidate or supporter shall carry out campaigning near polling booths or in any public/private area within this radius. These restrictions will not apply to observers, administrative and police officials on duty, security personnel deployed for election duty, or government employees involved in polling and counting. No campaign-related posters or banners will be allowed in this zone.

The orders further prohibit any political party or contesting candidate from setting up their polling booth or tent within 200 metres of the polling stations. Additionally, except for officials of the State Election Commission, Punjab, district election authorities, or returning officers of the concerned Gram Panchayat election area, no person will be allowed to take their private vehicle within 200 metres of any polling booth.
