Jalandhar: Liquor Vends to Remain Closed in Poll-Bound Villages on December 14
Amaninder Kaur, Additional District Magistrate-cum-ADC (General), has ordered closure of liquor vends in all villages of Jalandhar district where Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections are scheduled on December 14, 2025. Liquor sale, serving and storage in shops, hotels, restaurants and clubs will remain strictly prohibited in these villages under Section 54 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 and Section 135(C) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
