Jalandhar News: The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two accused involved in an inter-state drug network and recovering commercial quantities of narcotics including 205 grams of cocaine, 2 kilograms of charas, 20 grams of ICE, 22 grams of LSD tablets, along with 2 illegal weapons and 5 live rounds.
Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, informed that under the special anti-drug campaign initiated by the Punjab Government, this operation was executed under the supervision of Sh. Manpreet Singh Dhillon (DCP/Inv), Sh. Jayant Puri (ADCP/Inv) and Sh. Amarbir Singh (ACP) by the CIA-Staff Jalandhar team led by Insp. Sh. Surinder Kumar.
She said that on 14.11.2025, the CIA-Staff team was conducting searches related to drug smugglers near Mandakni Farm, Service Lane, G.T Road, Phagwara, Jalandhar, when an adult was apprehended on suspicion. He identified himself as Sagar Babbar, son of Late Pardeep Babbar, resident of Dashmesh Nagar, Model House, Jalandhar.
A total of 200 grams of cocaine, 2 kilograms of charas, 20 grams of ICE, 22 grams of LSD tablets, and one .32 bore pistol were recovered from the accused. During further action, his associate Dharmanshu alias Love, son of Manoj Kumar, resident of Basti Sheikh, Jalandhar, was also arrested, from whom 5 grams of cocaine and one .32 bore revolver along with 5 live rounds were recovered.
An FIR No. 329 dated 14-11-2025, under Sections 21, 61, 85 NDPS Act, and added offences under 20, 22, 29 NDPS Act, along with 25-54-59 Arms Act, has been registered at Police Station Rama Mandi against the accused.
Accused Sagar Babbar has two previous NDPS Act cases registered against him at Sundar Nagar (Himachal Pradesh) and Kharar (Mohali). Accused Dharmanshu alias Love also has an NDPS Act case registered at Police Station Kurali, Mohali.
Both accused are currently on police remand, and further interrogation is underway to identify their forward and backward linkages so that the entire drug network can be dismantled.
