Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret’ Policy is Historic, Mann Government Completely Understood Farmers’ Pain: Deepak Bali

CM Mann Delivers Major Relief for Flood-Affected Farmers with ₹20,000 Per Acre Compensation: Deepak Bali

Punjab E News (September 2025):  After Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s organization became the voice of flood-affected people on the ground, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann took a historic decision that previous governments could not even imagine. AAP’s State General Secretary Deepak Bali, calling the big relief package announced by the Chief Minister “a step that brings peace to the heart,” said that when the party’s organization conveys people’s pain and concerns to the government, people-centric leaders like Bhagwant Mann create history in favour of farmers and flood victims.

AAP State General Secretary Deepak Bali said that the relief package announced by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has proven that the AAP government is truly the people’s own government. He said that AAP’s organization has been continuously working in flood-affected areas for the past several days, personally reaching out to every victim and farmer to understand their problems. The party’s Punjab Incharge, Manish Sisodia, also visited the affected areas repeatedly and understood the people’s pain firsthand. When this feedback was conveyed to the government, the Chief Minister immediately heard the people’s voice and took decisions in their favour.

Deepak Bali praised the Chief Minister’s slogan “Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret” and said that allowing farmers to sell and use the sand and silt deposited in their fields due to floods is an unprecedented step. This is a permission that no previous government ever had the courage to give. With this, farmers will be able to make their land cultivable again.

In addition, Deepak Bali said that announcing compensation of ₹20,000 per acre for damaged crops is a record. He said that many states in India face floods, but by announcing such a huge compensation amount, Chief Minister Mann has made Punjab the first state in the country to do so. He further added that the decision to give ₹4 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives in the floods, along with surveying house damages and providing compensation, reflects the government’s sensitivity.

He said that all this was possible because from patwaris to the Chief Secretary, all ministers and chairpersons were continuously present among the people on the ground. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister as a party worker, Deepak Bali said that while this loss cannot be completely undone, the people-centric decision of CM Mann has worked as a balm on the wounds of the victims. The entire organization, farmers, and every victim thank him because he understood and resolved this issue with full sincerity and depth.
