Punjab E News: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has strongly reacted to the objectionable comments made by Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat about Sikhs. He said that Congress’ mentality towards Sikhs has still not changed, and the entire Congress party should apologise for Rawat’s condemabale words.
Sandhwan said that Sikhs are the community that made the greatest sacrifices to free the country. Reminding Harak Singh Rawat, he said that the phrase “12 bajj gya” originated from the time when Abdali would abduct daughters and sisters, and Sikh warriors would attack him at midnight to rescue them. Sandhwan questioned whether this bravery is now being mocked.
Launching a sharp attack on Congress, Sandhwan said that Congress leaders have always rubbed salt on the wounds of Sikhs instead of healing them. Referring to the 1984 Sikh genocide, he said these are the same people who orchestrated the massacre of ’84, put tyres around the necks of innocent Sikhs and burnt them alive, and carried out the killings of innocent people.
Sandhwan has demanded an apology from Punjab Congress President Raja Warring, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Charanjit Channi, Rahul Gandhi and Harak Singh Rawat. He said that this remark has hurt the sentiments of all patriots, all those who love this land, and all who respect the Constitution.
