‘AAP’ government committed to the development and welfare of Tarn Taran: Harmeet Singh Sandhu
Tarn Taran Election News:Â Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Tarn Taran constituency, Harmeet Singh Sandhu, has appreciated the steps taken by the Punjab government for social security. He said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously working for the welfare of the weaker sections of society.
Sandhu informed that, according to the Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur, an amount of ₹3624.46 crore has been released so far during the current financial year under various schemes. A total budget of ₹6175 crore has been allocated for this year to ensure timely assistance to those in need.
The AAP candidate stated that ₹2400.70 crore has been released for old-age pensions, ₹693.04 crore for widows and destitute women, ₹242.77 crore for dependent children, and ₹287.95 crore for persons with disabilities.
Harmeet Singh Sandhu said that nearly 35 lakh people in the state are currently benefiting from these schemes, which is evidence of the government’s people-oriented policies. He assured that every eligible beneficiary in the Tarn Taran constituency will receive the full benefits of government welfare schemes.
