Jalandhar News: The CIA Staff team of Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has successfully arrested three accused persons in two separate operations and recovered a commercial quantity of 25 kilograms of poppy husk (doda chura post) and 350 grams of heroin from their possession.
Sharing the details, Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, said that the action was carried out under the Punjab Government’s ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”. She informed that under the supervision of Sh. Manpreet Singh Dhillon, DCP/INV, Sh. Jayant Puri, ADCP/INV and Sh. Amarbir Singh, ACP/D the police team led by Inspector Surinder Kumar, Incharge CIA Staff Jalandhar, conducted these successful operations.
She said that on 17.12.2025, the CIA Staff police team was present near New Dana Mandi, Durga Colony, Jalandhar. During that, one person was apprehended near Durga Colony Chowk on suspicion. The accused was identified as Nachhatar Singh, son of Kulwant Singh, resident of Haveliya, Police Station Sarai Amanat Khan, District Tarn Taran. Upon search, 25 kilograms of poppy husk was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 150 dated 17.12.2025 u/s 15/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Division No. 2, Jalandhar.
She further said that on 18.12.2025, during another operation, the CIA Staff team apprehended two individuals near Phullan Wali Market. They were identified as Nishan Singh, son of Dharampal, and Bittu Singh, son of Dona Singh, both residents of Village Amritpur, Police Station Talwandi Chaudhrian, District Kapurthala. During the search, 350 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 151 dated 18.12.2025 u/s 21-C/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Division No. 2, Jalandhar.
*The arrested accused are currently on police remand. Further investigation is underway, and both forward and backward linkages of the drug trafficking network are being examined.*
